Our Story
Syston and District Volunteer Centre, School Street, Syston, was originally set up in 1977 with the declared aim of providing a range of services to meet the needs of the local community – especially the old, the infirm and the rurally isolated – to recruit and place volunteers, to provide appropriate support, to develop new ideas and opportunities for bringing the community together and to establish close links with other statutory and voluntary organisations who could assist in those tasks.

If you drive and have a few hours to spare or don’t drive there; are a lot of ways you can make a difference to someones live.
Our partners
We value our partners here at the Volunteer Centre. Overheads and running costs for the Centre are kept to an absolute minimum, with every penny of expenditure very carefully scrutinised. Donors may therefore be assured that the large majority of any contribution they make will go directly to the provision of much-needed services within our local community.
